Aston Microphone Project Element
So, if you have followed GearZombie at all you've likely seen that I have fallen in love with Aston Microphones. Now owning the Stealth and the Origin I am sold! They have a really cool campaign to develop a microphone with sound developed by public vote in blind listening tests online. So you can go out and register and listen to clips and pick what you like. The mic is called the Aston Element and is certain to be as fantastic as their other offerings. If you haven't already I have some video links below with the Aston Stealth for [...]
Strymon Iridium Review Best Amp Pedal For Guitar Players
I have been at this for a long long time. I am an absolute dinosaur for musicians. I remember being so excited as a wee lad to upgrade from my solid-state Crate G40C combo to a Crate G120C 2x12 (still solid-state) combo and thinking I had arrived. We’re talking like 1992ish. I got it home, it weighed a ton and was on casters, I called my best musician buddy over and he looked at it and said… Ohhh.. I thought you got a “REAL” amp. And that’s the day I learned about tube amps.
Final Alice In Chains Layne Staley Performance
If you're a fan this is a cool performance to watch. A bootleg filmed from the balcony at Kemper Arena, Kansas City July 3, 1996, is said to be the final performance of Alice In Chains with Layne Staley. I've had this playing in my ear the last couple of days I forgot how interesting some of these songs are. Also, make sure to check the posters other videos, they have a lot of Alice in Chains content. Check it out! https://youtu.be/OYrBqO45PTk And, if you're a super fan check out the cover of "I Stay Away" we did using the [...]

Chris Fehn Leaves Slipknot Following Lawsuit
In an odd slug of news last week it was reported that percussionist Chris Fehn from Slipknot was suing the rest of the band while still being an active member. The lawsuit basically cited a pay dispute. Fehn is claiming he was under the impression that the band's money made from touring and merchandise is handled entirely by one company that splits profits and pays the bands. The reports say, however, that Fehn recently discovered that his bandmates set up several other Slipknot affiliated business entities in different states that he was unaware of. Quick to post was Corey Taylor [...]
MySpace Lost All Your Music
The year was 2003 and it was starting to feel like the wild wild west on the internet. Napster in it's original form was dead but music was still strong as ever. Then came MySpace it was the absolutely the hottest site on the internet. It was really the first massive social media platform and it provided a spot for bands. Mine included. But as they say all good things must come to an end. And in many ways that included music with real instruments. And also.... Facebook. The decline of rock music and the explosion of the new [...]

He was an apprentice of creator of the first hip replacement, William "Bill" Wallace.
