Check Out Stone Temple Pilots Unreleased Song ‘Only Dying” From The Crow
From Blabbermouth: A previously unreleased STONE TEMPLE PILOTS song called "Only Dying", taken from the upcoming 25th-anniversary expanded reissue of the band's debut album, "Core", can be heard using the SoundCloud widget below. The track was demoed early in STP's career and the band had planned to re-record in 1994 for "The Crow" soundtrack. The idea was later scrapped after the star of the film, Brandon Lee, was killed during production. "That song was a little bit of a different direction for us," bassist Robert DeLeo tells Rolling Stone. "It was based more off jazz-type chordings. As a songwriter, I wanted to spark people into different directions." "I remember Scott [Weiland, vocals] [...]

Musicians Don’t Get It As “Cash Me Outside” Girl Danielle Bregoli Signs With Atlantic Records
I don't normally write articles like this or many at all as my blog is mostly about gear reviews. But my social media feeds have been rabid about Danielle Bregoli, the "Cash Me Outside" Dr. Phil girl, signing a record deal with Atlantic Records a few days ago. The posts really give me the giggles. Things being said like, "She's not an artist", "Listen to the Autotune", "She has no talent"...... Here's the problem, you're all absolutely correct. But what everyone throwing a fit can't get their head around is none of that matters. I'm going to try to [...]
Prince Reported Dead At 57 More To Come
TMZ is reporting that Prince was found dead in his Paisley Park studio in Minnesota earlier today. His plane was recently diverted to a Davenport Iowa hospital with what was reported as flu complications. Most other media is simply reporting this as a fatality and have not released the victim name as of yet.
Foo Fighters On Indefinite Hiatus says Taylor Hawkins
Rumors have been spinning around the old interwebs all day about a Foo Fighters break up due to a New York Post Page Six report. A representative for FF said the story was "utterly ridiculous". Normally when a rep comes out and says things like that.... It's totally true. Artisan News published a video with Taylor Hawkins that was short on January 16th saying that they're taking a hiatus. According to the page 6 article “The band is billing it as a ‘break,’ but it’s totally Dave going solo, and Taylor is pissed about it,” Grohl’s Oscar performance on Sunday [...]
Hellyeah Performs Ace of Spades in Lemmy Tribute
It totally sucks when an icon passes. But what doesn't suck is the amount of bands that pay tribute with kick ass covers of their songs. Here is a killer version of Ace of Spades done by Hellyeah. I can dig it!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxm3ufdJdFM
John 5 “Black Grass Plague” Video is awesome
John 5 has a new solo track out titled Black Grass Plague. "The video was produced and directed by Jonny Coffin of Coffin Cases," says 5, who also plays lead guitar for Rob Zombie. "We filmed it in a warehouse right next to Jonny's place. It was swelteringly hot in there that day, but we got through it, and if anything, the heat contributed to the energy in the video. "The star-shaped stage with all the neon lights is actually Elton John's piano riser," continues 5. "It turns out you can rent it. Who knew? Thank you, Elton!" The promo [...]
Lemmy Kilmister and MOTÖRHEAD What Metal Is Made Of
Whether or not you're into MOTÖRHEAD you know who they are. And even if you can't name a single tune you probably know who Lemmy is. While one of the planets most iconic voices in metal was silenced Monday December 28th 2015 the legend will live on and god willing his example will as well. Admittedly I am not the biggest MOTÖRHEAD fan. I am however a massive fan of who they are and what they do. While it's very well know that Lemmy fueled most of his life with a buffet of various chemicals, that (believe it or not) [...]
Stone Temple Pilots On Possible Reunion with Scott Weiland. “That F**king Mess?”
If you've ever dealt with a singer that was a problem you know how debilitating it can be for a band. If you've never had the experience it's difficult to explain. It can kinda go like this. One person thinks they're so valuable that the band can't go on without them. It can be any band member really, but where a band will more willingly can another member, the vocalist is always the last to go. Especially in a well known band with a distinct sound like STP. But eventually once you've had your fill and pull the trigger to [...]
Wayne Static Tribute at Crypticrock.com
Wayne Static was part of my life's soundtrack for what seems like as long as I can remember. Growing up in the midwest, playing in bands, always loving heavy music and with some electronic elements. When I first got a taste of Static-X I was in love with that sound. I had the same love affair with Powerman 5000. A combination of heavy, angry powerful music but music that had a drive and an audible bounce. People had fun at those shows. In retrospect it was the beginning of the end for music as I knew it. These bands [...]
