Wayne Static Tribute at Crypticrock.com
Wayne Static was part of my life’s soundtrack for what seems like as long as I can remember. Growing up in the midwest, playing in bands, always loving heavy music and with some electronic elements. When I first got a taste of Static-X I was in love with that sound. I had the same love affair with Powerman 5000. A combination of heavy, angry powerful music but music that had a drive and an audible bounce. People had fun at those shows. In retrospect it was the beginning of the end for music as I knew it.
These bands were popular when there were still rockstars, well before the homogenized version of music we get today. It’s unfortunate that music that is fun has all but disappeared. But that’s for an entirely different rant. Maybe later tonight.
For now, here is a great post from over at crypticrock.com Called When The Pighammer Falls. Click the link and check it out. It’s worth the read!
